The Anchor Praise and Worship
  • The Anchor is no longer being offered.

The world is full of many different kinds of Christians that prefer to worship in their own way. Some sing hymns, some sing praise choruses, and still others worship in a different manner.

The Anchor is a praise and worship service aimed at bringing teenagers and young adults to either a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ or to help them grow to understand God more fully as they take steps of faith and worship Him with their whole being.

This once-a-month worship event will take place the last Saturday of each month at 7:00.

What to Expect at The Anchor

With a live band, things are bound to be a little more, shall we say lively, than your typical worship service. The band/worship leaders, Unseen, has been playing music for many years and have recently shifted their focus to ministry and evangelism. Unseen will be providing an array of music at The Anchor each month.

The music that will be played each month will vary. In recent performances Unseen has been playing praise songs such as "Open the Eyes of My Heart", "I am a Friend of God", "Here I am to Worship" and "God of Wonders", though they've also played songs by Jeremy Camp, Switchfoot and other Christian rock artists.

All of this being said, The Anchor is very much a praise and worship service, and therefore the structure of the service will mostly depend on the leading of the spirit and the direction we feel led to go.

Notes from Past Anchor Services

  • February 26th 2005 - The first Anchor Service
Wow. That's all I can say after the first ever Anchor service. I've been a member of First Church for around 6 or 7 years and I've never seen anything like this happen at our wonderful church. We witnessed no less than 7 people give their life to Christ at the last service and that alone made it worth our while to haul all of our equipment (and some borrowed equipment) down to the basement. I look forward to the next Anchor service and the possibilities that it brings. I hope to see even more people there ready to praise God without holding back anything.
